A mutual friend notifyed me that he died peacefully at his home with wife and daughter Lindy at his side. Col.Cooper was the founder of Gunsite and the Southwest Pistol League....fore runner of most all the action shooting handgun sports today. His writings have become near legend, his views were not always popular and his comments were often described as radical. I personally repected the man...his written legacy is it's own defense. AzRednek Posted September 26, 2006 Report Share Posted September 26, 2006 A real personable type guy. I had a chance to meet him breifly at the NRA convention in the ealry 80's. He literally drew a crowd but extended his hand and greeted everybody that said hello. In a way I almost felt sorry for him.
