Since, as I underatand that the walls in the mideast are made of thick hard mud brick this is not good. So the foe has the advantage in infantry weapons in city fighting. usmc0332 Posted January 9, 2007 Report Share Posted January 9, 2007 THe Marine Corps already had a 6.8mm round developed to overcome the shortcomings if the 5.56mm. About time I say. I think that they should just issue the SOCOM 16 and call it good. The M14 is plenty proven and men that train with weapons can handle recoil. I would rather bear a greater burden with marginally heavier ammo for that mighty firepower. But I am just an old fat Machinegunner. When I was getting off easy I was carrying a M60E3.
