I bought two of these a few years ago for future projects. In my notes, I have this info: 19.63" barrel made by FN for 1922 Brazil carbine. Best accuracy with 154 gr bullets. They are a nice quality barrel for sure. My 2 kopecks, ...Stephanovich...

When these appeared on the market over a dozen years ago, they were advertised as being FN manufacture for the 1922 Brazilian carbine. I bought one back then and used it to build a sweet carbine with a 1909 Argy action. The late gun writer Finn Aagard wrote an article shortly before his death about a Mannlicher carbine he re-barelled with one. He was quite pleased with it. The full length stock tends to disguise the "steps" and make it more eye appealing. Many of these barrels have some pitting on the outside due to contact with the storage spacers in the crates they were packed in, so buyer beware. If you get a good one its hard to go wrong for the money.

I have to chime in on this one.

That listing said "bores perfect".

I just caution you to verify that upon delivery.

I got one of those a few years ago.

It was coated in cosmoline and in a plastic sleeve.

I was discussing the barrel with Tanglewood and he was

saying how they have a long throat and benefit from facing off the

breech and deepening the chamber to net out shortening the throat.

So I took it out of the sleeve to check the throat.

I found the bore full of rust.

The Rat Bastards hadn't coated the bore with cosmoline, just the outside and chamber.
