roscoedoh
US to Ban All Incandescent Lamps I work in electrical distribution - this is a pretty big development. Hopefully the cost of a CFL lamp will come down?
swamprat
The price of bulbs won't come down and as far as that 12% savings on your electric bill, as soon as the light company looses 12% of its income the price will go up 15%. An how do you save energy if its recommended to leave a light on for a minimum of 15 minutes at a time. This is another dumb ass plan from the the tree huggers. Ron J
I have to agree, Swamprat. I have a water saver faucet. It saves nothing. You run it longer. You flush water saver toilets twice. We looked at new washing machines recently. None have warm water rinse. This is to save energy. Rinse something in cold water 4 or 5 times and eventually the soap is out. Our local water department announced on the radio that it will HAVE to raise prices, per cubic foot of water. The spokesman came right out and said it was due to not selling as much water and needing X amount of dollars to operate. It's all BS, just like you said. karlunity
The Hippy went and got a new dishwasher..the other was about 18 years old went it gave out. Now the old dishwasher took about 40 minutes start to finish. The new "Green-environment kind" she picked ...well she IS a hippy : ) takes about 4 hours ...she wishes she could have the old one back.
