karlunity
Fellas Will a Sony NEC Optiarc AD-7530B 8x DVD±RW DL Notebook Drive (Blk) , fit and work in a Dell inspiron 4100 lap top? Karl
Spiris
I don't know if it will fit, but I really doubt it, but then you never know without trying. The problem is the proprietary cases preclude other brands from interchanging. One solution is to get an external USB DVD burner. Several places have them. I shop at GEEKS.COM and they have some. Don't be afraid of refurbished units as they are generally run through factory tests. Another solution is to use a desktop type dvd burner that you may already have, with a usb adapter which are available for around $10. They will all get the job done. Jimro
You'll have to swap the front plate, but the burner itself should be built to standard specs. If you don't have a front plate to swap, just remove the plate and do without. Jimro
karlunity
Thanks Jimro. I ordered a "dell" instead from "Geeks.com" it should be here tomorrow. A week late... I was told that it would be here in two days, but it seems that it was late in being shipped out. Good prices but slow service. karl
