karlunity
The Hippy wants to get sound proof windows for the house. As it can cost more than a grand a window, I am seeking advice. Any of you guys have any experience with the,? Karl
plumbum
what is the noise she wants to abate? some noises are easier to abate than others. there is a science to it. lower frequency noises are tougher to abate, IIRC.

FC
Aren't you thinking of moving in the not so distant future? I hate that boom-boom noise.
tinkerfive
Boom-boom music from cars or local parties. karl That will be tough. Those low frequencies, you will find are coming thru the walls as well and not just the windows. Some kid was obviously working the 3 to 11 shift, because for several months straight at 11:20 to 11:25 you could hear his car going BOOM - BOOM for a 1/4 mile coming and a 1/4 mile going as he drove past our house. Best of luck with learning to appreciate that style of music. Tinker

Horsefly
It aint music.Boom boomers are letting other boom boomers know how good their boomers are and how much they spent. My son may have done that crap, but never around me,but he hooked up systems as a side line for they dudes that were in boom boom competitions.Reckon my boy never did it now that I think about it,'cause he never had the equipment in his truck. It cost a wheelbarrow full of money to piss folks off with one of those.Jerry

FC
Tanglewood, yer crackin' me up! How exactly do you make a setup like your oil injector? Pump type, switch, and how hooked up to the exhaust? Turbanhead preparedness kit- I don't have one of those@
cold shot
For ALL you "smoker wanna be's" the best stuff to inject into the exhaust just behind the cats is Dextron 111. Or use any TRANS fluid . The smoke is blinding white and they can't see for shitttes, not only that, it smells the same. Anyone ever stuff the spud in the tail pipe? Next time put a 3/4 " hole in the spud first. Relives the back pressure. When the tater is cooked it swellup then about 5 min later...Kapow..the"ll swear they blew something up....Just me yakkin...Dave
FC
That's precious! Here there are lots of motor scooters. They sound like, "Gee, gidik, gidik", or you get the 4-bangers with the popcorn popper type mufflers. Either one would be fun to try the smoke cloud.
