Guest MorgansBoss Posted September 5, 2005 Report Share Posted September 5, 2005 It kind of got lost in the huricane news but did anyone else see the report last week of several hundred Arab pilgrams being killed in a stampede? Seems someone thought they saw a bomb and panic ensued. Hundreds were trampled to death. I don't find this the least bit funny but I do find it ironic since there usually aren't ten killed when there is a bombing! Panic does bad things to people's heads. In my hunter/firearm safety classes we teach an acronym - S.T.O.P. - when you think you may be getting into trouble Sit down, Think, Organize yourself, Plan what to do next. Of course there isn't always time/oportunity to physically do all these things - you wouldn't want to sit beside the suspected bomb to figure out what to do next - but irrational thought usually leads to poor results.
