AzRednek
Does anybody have any experience with one of these?? Friend of mine is considering one and asked for my opinion. Price seems right considering it is half price compared to a genuine Colt. http://www.jgsales.com/product_info.php/p/...roducts_id/1826
roscoedoh
it is half price compared to a genuine Colt. Word on the street is you get exactly what you pay for. I've told to stay far, far away from the Century AR's for too many reasons to list.
Spiris
The rumor is that you never know what you'll get. It's a crap shoot whether you'll get one that works or not. It would be better to step up a bit more and get something that has a better record. The Colt's are overpriced and over rated. I don't own an AR, and have no desire to own one. edspad
For $160 more you can get a GI-16 from http://www.olyarms.com/index.php?option=co...ge&Itemid=1 Olympic arms, I like this carbine as much as my Armalite. also i would check with DPMS they have some solid rifles at low cost http://www.dpmsinc.com/ other wise i would be a bit nervous of a century parts build myself. AzRednek
Thx guys!! I think his mind is made up and he was looking for me to reinforce his decision. I tried to tell him to add a few bucks and get a Bushmaster. He claims if they look ok he's buying two. My friend does have the advantage of being in Prescott (J&G's location) once or twice a week and he can buy in person. I'll let my hard headed buddy be the Guinea Pig. As far as I know J&G will do an exchange if he gets a lemon. Another friend of mine got a junk PA-63 from J&G and didn't have any trouble doing an over the counter exchange a few days later. Sure wish I had known after buying a Century CETME from J&G. I've had it a few years now, somewhere between 500-700 rds and I have yet emptied a mag without at least one jam. Already found a step by step pictorial on how to replace the broken cocking lever spring.
