FC
I'm going to fly my flag at half-staff inauguration day. I invite anybody else to join me in mourning the passing of America as we knew it.
karlunity
FC, America is a long..long way from passing away. I hope Obama does well and leaves the nation stronger than he found it. But I don't expect that he will as I see him as a Clinton clone. Good or bad presidents "don't mean nothin"..America is the promised land and Americans are the chosen people of God. With God is on our side..we have little to worry about. In four years there will be an election and if Obama has not done well, he will follow Carter into the dust bin of history. Be of good cheer my friend...they ain't got us yet. karl
FC
Karl, there's a big difference today: Obama is our first Marxist president. Morals are at an all-time low. Americans value getting from government over liberty.
karlunity
FC. Sometimes a fella needs a scare to reform. There was a fella who loved to smoke a pipe but a cigar or a cigarette would do. He was gonna stop..told his wife he would stop.. told the kids..just one more smoke. Fella would do a 3 mile run and end with a smoke.. Well, one day he was running for the bus and heard a strange sound in his lungs, turned out not to be bad but it SCARED hell out of him and he stopped smoking than and there. Obama may surprise us and be a great president, in which case, we have nothing to worry about. Or he may. as I think, just be Bill II-- the sequel, in which case we will vote him out in 4. Or he may try to set up the PRUSA, and in so doing push the free people to the wall and trigger civil war. If so, we will win as we have most of the guns. Obama may be just what this nation needs. karl
FC
Amerika may not allow us to talk like this without threat from the gubmint. During the Revolution, my understanding is that the country was roughly 1/3 for the Revolution, 1/3 Loyalist, and 1/3 didn't care. Doesn't sound much different today. FC
People are different now; my grandparents are dead, along with a way of life. I don't think there's much chance of going back.

roscoedoh
We had to have a Carter to have a Reagan.
FC
Good thought, but Obama has charisma, and Carter had nothing but a claim to honesty.
Spiris
Charisma or not, the fact remains that now the inmates are running the asylum. We'll see how we feel in a couple years. Spiris
