cajunman2205
I haven't bought any of these guns in a while. I had 4 and 3 were badly damaged in a flood except for one that was still packed in cosmoline. I'm wanting to buy a couple more and I don't see the M44's anywhere. I see a few 91/30's for sale. Spiris
Yes, I've noticed a lull in the importation of mainly M44s. 91/30's seem to be available, and Century is showing that "coming soon" in their ads for the M44. Spiris
brokengun
One reason for the shortage maybe the increase in demand caused by RBN talk show hosts promoting Mosin Nagant’s has a cheap survival rifle. This has been going on now for over a year. Most people wanted the M44 rifles instead of the 91/30 but I look for the supply of those guns to start becoming in short supply
cajunman2205
What is going to be the expected going rate for them when they come in? I have a hard time believing there is a shortage of these rifles considering the number of these manufacture. Did they just stop importing so many? I'm not preparing for when the SHTF, I just want to get a couple more shooters. I don't see anyone in their right mind paying over $100 for one like I see them selling for on some of the auction sites.
roscoedoh
Man, getcha a C&R FFL. There are still several distributors that have Mosins for sale for less than $100. I have a FFL on file with SOG, J&G Sales, and Century and I think all three advertise Mosins still. Not to mention, once you get your C&R, you'll find all kinds of guns you can buy that you didn't know you needed, but really have to have! cajunman2205
I had my C&R once before. I plan on getting it again. The paper work is in the mail as we speak. I don't see but a few distributors listing M44's. I do see quite a few 91/30's.
Doble Troble
I like the M38s. Is the integral bayonet considered a good thing by the survival crowd? I guess its better than a sharp stick.
cajunman2205
I hate the bayonet personally. It's ugly. However, it does make a great kick-stand at the range. I don't get the survivalist mentality. I really don't think we will see anything like that ever.
