U.s. Krag Barrel Removal?

Recommended Posts

Howdy folks! I have this Krag barreled reciever and I want to remove the barrel. Is there an action wrench for this? Does anyone here have the blueprints for making an action wrench for a U.S. Krag? Is there another way to remove it?

Thanks in advance for the help.

There is a wood working tool for copying profiles that may be helpful.

You've probably seen it but haven't thought of it for this application.

It has a row of pins right next to each other. You press it against the profile (receiver) you

wish to copy then you can trace the profile now expressed in the row of pins on to the piece

that is to mate with the original.

Good luck :)

There is a gent that goes by the handle "Buckshot" that made up a action wrench such as you need. Go over to castboolits@gunloads.com

and get on the castboolits site. You could post this in the military rifles section sooner or later he'll answer your post. He's great at making oddball H&I dies for the lyman luber sizer as well. I do know he made up an action wrench for the krag as I have seen photos of it. And action wrenches for these rifles don't just grow on trees. Hope this helps. Frank
