odies dad
I am in the process of adopting a Swedish war vetran. He is 102 years old, but in remarkably good condition. His name is Carl Gustaf. He still has all of his original parts too. Adoption is not finalized yet, but pictures will be provided when the adoption does become finalized. odies dad
Well, the adoption was finalized today. I'm holding off on the pictures until I get him cleaned up a little. For 102 years old he looks pretty good.
AzRednek
Well, the adoption was finalized today. I'm holding off on the pictures until I get him cleaned up a little. For 102 years old he looks pretty good. You're showing signs of an excellent parent. BTW is it a he or a she?? Hopefully at 102 he/she doesn't need adult diapers!! I'll keep a look out for you for Poise coupons. So when does the major surgery start or you keeping it original??
odies dad
The stock had been sanded somewhat, so I am working on staining and refinishing with Tru-oil. Got 3 coats on last night and will get more on today. This one is too nice to sporterize.
odies dad
Finally took a picture of Carl. Took him out for some exercise today. He did very well. Here is a 5 shot group with open sights at 50 yards. The spot is about 4 inches.

ken98k
I'm a little confused, what is it? M-94 had a bent bolt and short barrel. M-96 had a long barrel and straight bolt (except sniper rifles which had bent bolts). M-38 were the same as the 96s but shorter. Could you have a 94 the was rebuilt to 1938 configuration? odies dad
It is considered a 96/38. Started life as a 96 but was rearsinaled to 38 specs. All the numbers match and the bolt lugs look like they were just machined. I was impressed by how it shot. Those were 140gr handloads using the starting charge from the Lyman book. I think it was 32.5gr of IMR4350. Whatever has the pink label. 6 o'clock hold on the targets at 50 yards. I think the front sight blade was replaced. This one has a flat top. I think it is a tad taller than stock.
