karlunity
Well fellas. Again it seems one liberal judge can give the finger to a whole state and get away with it. This reminds me that we have become subjects living at the whim of our betters. karl
brokengun
Well Karl maybe the State of Arizona needs to look at this ruling the way Chicago looked at the recent McDonald Supreme Court case ruling. Chicago didn’t say “oh well the Court has spoken so if people want to exercise their Right to own a gun then let the people have their way” Instead Chicago said this means we can force people to jump through a thousand hoops, pay high fees and wait and wait and wait until we decide they can get a permit. Why doesn’t Arizona take the Chicago approach or why dont the State say up-yours Federal government we have the 10 amendment. What’s Obama going to do arrest the Governor and legislature? karlunity
"What’s Obama going to do arrest the Governor and legislature? " It would depend on how much federal money that state gets. If it is money they can do without, they can tell the Feds where to go and try the Constitutional argument you suggest. If the state has become depended "hooked", you might say, on federal aid and Mr. Obama, can, with the support of a liberal Congress, cut those funds off, he has the state by the ba88s. Chi is in a better position> Since Mr. Obama agrees with Chi, he is "anti gun" , he is not going to pressure them. karl
dindvik
Part of the complant is that it was manditory to check residency, they kicked that out. but it doesn't stop police from asking . and the gov can tell troopers to still ask.Just like an ex order. AzRednek
Even though the law has been gutted. The Maricopa County Sheriff announced yesterday he was going to continue his workplace raids and ask the immigration status of anybody the deputy suspects is here illegally. The sheriff said and I'm paraphrasing. "I don't care if we stop somebody for a cracked windshield we might ask their immigration status that doesn't mean we are racially profiling". The Sheriff claimed the only effect the legal decision will have on him. Illegals will be turned over to ICE rather than being prosecuted in Maricopa County. The libs not happy that the entire law wasn't thrown out by the court. Showed by the thousands in downtown Phoenix and at the Sheriff's headquarters. They formed a human chain blocking the entrance into the jail. What I heard on the radio and can't say with 100% certainty. The demonstration was in downtown Phoenix. Phoenix police and the bleeding heart police chief turned a blind eye. Leaving the Sheriff's Office to deal with the demonstrators. In the past, Phoenix's mayor wanted to turn Phx into a sanctuary city and the police chief is going to kiss his boss' rear end. Fortunately for Arizona residents. The new concealed weapons law went into effect today. Any Arizona resident that can legally own a gun can now legally carry concealed. Summer is here and race riots usually break out this time of year. If the demonstrations continue I have a feeling the swhtf soon. Another Arizona cop was killed and two wounded yesterday. One bad guy died in the shoot-out, the others were arrested. They were all illegal aliens from Mexico in the midst of a drug deal gone bad when the shooting started.
