How I Nearly Loaded My Pants!

I've been doing a little ammo horse trading on the net through some local internet ads that allow firearm's ads. Been dickering back and forth for about a week with one guy. We finally struck a deal and agreed to meet. I don't like having strangers coming to my house knowing I have guns so we agreed to a meeting point, not exactly in the best part of town to meet up. I'm familiar with the corner, told him what I was driving and I would park by the pay phones. While sitting in my car, gun in the center console a cop approaches my car. I'm figuring oh sh!t, is this deal a sting, is trading ammo legal. When the cop gets close he says "Dave" and I nearly loaded my pants. Then he sticks his hand out for a handshake, "I've got your ammo. He was simply an off duty cop on his way home.
