karlunity
Fellas. I found a couple of my old pipes and was thinking of taking up smoking them again last time was 1985. Anyway..I was looking on the net for my old tabacco.."John Rolf". Seems that it is no longer made..but a "comparable" is 35 bucks a pound? Last time I purchased it was 1984 and it was 10 bucks a lb. FC
Nurse Harkin says you don't want oral cancer! Yeah, tobacco is mighty expensive now, but you'd have to account for inflation too. My eccentric mom used to smoke a pipe.
karlunity
I hadn't figured that you could catch anything from a pipe. Thanks FC..I gotta stay around and take care of the Hippy. : ) Karl
ken98k
I quit smoking cigarettes a couple years ago and it's amazing how much "extra" money I seem to have. As a smoker I was always going to the store for cigarettes. Unfortunately I very quickly put on an extra 50lbs after quitting.
Spiris
Overlooking the dangers of smoking and focusing on the pleasures of occasionally smoking a pipe, here's a link to growing your own tobacco. http://non-hybrid-seeds.com/tob.html?gclid=CKKOgqTRw60CFQjd4AodcDA-Ag Spiris
sayak
I smoke a (Peterson) pipe and or a cigar about one a week. I do not expect to get oral cancer from doing so, nor lung or esophogial cancer. It is a relaxing thing to do and I spend very little money on it. Nothing beats a good smoke and a shot of single malt on a nice evening.

rdm1962
I always enjoyed smoking a pipe. I liked the different flavors of tobaccos. My smoke of choice was Camel filter-less. When I hit 3 packs a day I knew it was time to quite. I would wake up in the middle of the night to have a smoke. Felt like crap all the time. It has been 10 years and I still get cravings. I have to just stay strong and the cravings pass.
