dadio
Can a '98 barrel be rethreaded to fit an '88 receiver? thanks.
brokengun
simple answer is yes. the over-all dia for the 88 is .986 at 12 threads per inch the threaded area is .729 long with a step down area measuring .875 If you have this done make sure the person doing it understands how to cut a thread for a gun. I prefer a tight fit. the way i would do it is to leave the over-all dia around 5-10 thousands larger than the shank and then cut the threads.
