StoneCold
Hi all !! First post here. I can say there is some great stuff!! Well I just recently aquired a 1912 Steyr 98. It was a work in progress with the original owner. He's a friend of mine and wanted someone to finish it up and use it. It has been barrelled to .270 win acording to him but it is unmarked. It has been blued. The charging hump is still there. It is missing the ejector/bolt stop, floor plate, follower, spring, mag box, and trigger. It also has the original bolt shroud missing the safety. He trew in a timney trigger for the 98, with side safety, still in the box. It already has a sporterized bolt as well. First off is the 1912 okay for the .270 win?? If so where is a good place to get the missing parts??. If not, what next?? Thanks for any help. SC
donmarkey
I have all the parts you listed. PM or email me, it shouldn't be over $20 for everything. -Don
Clemson
It's a good action, and it will work fine with the .270. Get the parts from Don and make a rifle! Clemson

Reiter
Steyr 1912 actions are fine quality large ring 98 milsurp mausers ! Do you know what military contract it is ? If its "Modelo 1912 Steyr Austria", probably from Brazil. "Waffenfabrik Steyr Austria, probably Chile. But there were lots of south american countries that bought this rifle as a military contract. fritz
I have a 1912 Steyr that I sporterized to a caliber like the .270, and was quite pleased with it. It is a fine action. fritz
