"Get the grenades, Fritz, grenades" Got a source for those? Actually, I like the launcher attachment just as is. Some take it off, but I'll leave it. And I want to thank Tony for the idea of making a front sight tool out of an allen wrench. Achtung! I should have thought of that! BTW, I saw a fellow the other day wearing a cap that said, "You can always tell a German, but you can't tell him much". fritz
  2. If the sombrero will work to get things going, here is a photo that is sure to be "cool"-- Hope it works. I still have trouble getting used to the new format. fritz
  3. I would have to agree with the previous poster (and how many times does fritz agree with anyone?) Come on folks, we need to keep up the traffic (not to try to equal some other sites, but to keep it interesting). Lately, I have been kinda moody and post more on the fightin' forum. The sporterizing forum seems to be doing OK. I must applogize that I have not kept up with all the forums in our domain. I don't have all that much time to monitor every one of them, all of the time. But I will try to liven things up here all I can. fritz
  4. The new server refers to our avatar. So here is what Webster says-- ava-tar (Hinduism, a god appearing on earth in bodily form; incarnation of a god Since I'm not Hindu, I'll go to #2-- ava-tar (any incarnation or embodiment, as of a quality or concept in a person) Tony, I'll go with #2--can I be fritz the gentleman farmer, again? You all know what I look like, I'm like a chameleon, so the photo ain't important. I can be this or that, but I'm still the gentleman farmer. fritz

It seems that our legislators have gotten the state finances in a bit of crisis. As such, our good Governor Perry has asked that no stone be left unturned in the effort to make some money for the state. Therefore - something my Dad heard and pass along to me - Perry has asked TPW and DPS to increase the number of citations handed out. So be on the look out while your out driving or puttering around the lake with a brew close at hand. You wouldn't want to make a contribution to the Perry fund! --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Mrs fritz was one of the first contributors! She had never gotten a speeding ticket in her life--until Perry's order went out. But she works for the state, and was on state business at the time. Still, she was going above the limit in a rural area, and now she must pay. Jason, I told her this was coming. The rest of you watch out, Perry's Klan is on the march. fritz
  6. Only in Arizona could you find a yard sale like that. There must not be a local gunshop that advertises he wants to buy any firearms that are in an estate, etc. While you got seconds, you still made out like a bandito. fritz
  7. Yes, I shot it quite a bit. Probably handled it a bit too rough though. The things have a weakness in the latching spring on the loading gate. The gate would have to be manually returned to closed position after reloading. The friend I sold it to was only going to use it to shoot snake shot with, so repeat reloading was of no concern to him. The Roughrider revolver, on the other hand, was well built but I could not hit the side of my barn with it. Not with the LR cylinder or the .22 rimfire magnum. So I sold it cheap, lost money on both of them. But friends are friends. And the Rohm was nickle plated. It sure was purrty. fritz
  8. I see your point on the tig costs. Not only is the machine expensive, but the argon or other shielding gas is not cheap either. And it has to be replenished ever now and then. The welding rod is cheap, though. If I were not already an old weldor, I would also farm out my work. And to be truthful, I ain't as good at it as I used to be as a young man. The eyes get weak over the years, even though there are magnifiers, etc. It just ain't the same as being young again! fritz
  9. TLynn Well, we don't have as many posts as you (127), but then the administrator (FC) has only 23. Is the number of posts that important? Yeah, I know you were only joking, and so am I. fritz
  10. .22 revolvers are great to have. I had two, one was a cheap (albeit good looking) RG66, made by Rohm in Germany I believe. The other was a revolver that is still being sold, the Roughrider. Mine had both cylinders, for the LR and the .22 magnum. Both went to friends who needed them more than me. I now only have one .22 handgun left. It is a Browning Challenger 11, which preceeded the Buckmark. It is real pretty. The grips look like they are made of mesquite wood. But I have not shot it in years. I had to modify the trigger a bit, and now I am a bit concerned about someone using it that is not used to a very light trigger pull. The revolvers were great for shooting rat shot through. But I now reload Speer shot capsules in my .38 Spl to use on snakes. If I had put notches on the grips for every snake that ever bit the dust from it, well there would not be much wood left. fritz
  11. My apologies about this post. It was read-out as more bandwidth than I intended. So I deleted it. But I see it is a bit different here at Invision Plus than it was at EZboard when it comes to deleting a topic. It used to be deleted completely, topic and all. Now the topic remains, but the text is deleted. It used to be that a moderator could delete his own post (or any other post) topic and text both. It will take time to get used to the new format. fritz
  12. " am not feeling leftout, just wished to bring to the attention of all, how smart these three gentlemen are. " Well Tye, if you were smarter, you would not refer to me as "Fritz" but as "fritz". You see, I made that clear on the very first day I posted on any EZboard. "Fritz" is a common name of people in Germany, many of which came to America (legally). I am "fritz", the handle I took because of two things--my German heritage, and the fact that I work everyday on things that are on the fritz. Sorry, I can't explain it any better way than that. And I really don't believe you are ever "left out" of anything. Your presence here adds a sorta balance to an otherwise dull topic. fritz

Nahh, It's because since we moved, I had to set up Invision Plus as a new cookie to save in my spyware software (Spy Sweeper). It's saved now, so hopefully I should not have to log in on every forum everytime. fritz
