  1. Right off the bat, I have no knowledge of the 1911 except the basic history and what I have been told by dealers. I have a 1911 .45 colt that I may be in the market to sell. Problem I am having is I am finding it hard to get a value of what it may be worth, one says I will give you this for it because it is common, another says more and yet another will say less. It is in near mint condition and was rebuilt and refinished by some agency some years ago. I was told it was redone some place in San Francisco that has since closed (a military place/arsenal). It has not been shot since it was redone. The serial number is 1853xx. It is gray in color with fixed sights. I was told that it was issued to a Captian durning WW1, weather it was or not I can not prove. No "US Property" mark, there is a mark where it was ground off. No other marks except factory marks and a circle with something in it by the trigger above the mag release below the slide release. Grips are plastic. Any help in value, even a rough amount, would be appreciated. See my website below for pics. Thank you Adam Clawson My Webpage
