  1. must be because of storms in the Gulf, high demand,or the bombings in England.I started looking around for a type 38 just have something a little different to mess with, and all at once,a Jap cost twice as much as a nice Mauser.I'll be danged if I'll pay more for a Jap than a good vz24 or 98/22.Jerry
  2. I'd be happy to kick in too! Jerry
  3. I was wondering about you yesterday Mr.Rat.Wouldn't you really like to know how much the drug manufactors have invested in $200.00 a month inhalers?Probably not much more than the cheaper stuff, but due to supply and demand, can write their own check.I wish I was up there to take you hunting.I was in our new Cabelas yesterday, and got to thinking that I better get off my ass and do more hunting,'cause someday I won't be able too,and that'll be a sad day for sure.Keep getting better and check in more.I'm too simple minded to be wondering about you, makes my head hurt to think,so I don't.Jerry
  4. Would any of you have a clue where I could buy a cylinder pin for a cheap .22 revolver,an Excam, made in Italy?Numrich says Excam, and Hawes, all those cheap revolvers were all the same, but they're out of parts.I'm wondering if a Colt might work if they're a close copy.Even if I could borrow one,I can have one made by a freind.Jerry
  5. I reckon the C&R rules are to prevent folks like us from buying 39.00 Turks, doing all the stuff we do to them, and then selling them for 500.00 and shipping them through the mail classified as a Curio&Relic.Makes sense to me.Jerry
  6. That's exactly what I'll do Ty.Thanks for steering me their way.I've been looking for a club like that for years.Jerry
  7. I was just wanting to see what you think of this club.I'm probably going to join unless you see something I need to check into.I've never belonged to anything like that before. fwssc.org Thanks,Jerry.
  8. Tony will be nice,so please,go ahead and show us some more of you pistols.I hope to come to Canada before I die! Jerry
  9. Thanks for the info Ty.I went there and registered on the forum. Some dude from West Texas already had my Horsefly username,so now I'm heelfly over there. The next shoot here is in October at Mineral Wells at the old Fort Walthers helicoper base, about 1 hr. from here.October is a great time to be alive in Texas. Thanks very much compadre. This is something I've been looking for for a long time.Jerry
  10. Ty,I wish I could go to that shoot! My buddy at work decided he would get into silouhette shooting, and went out and bought a Pedersoli Winchester Highwall 45.70 with a 32'' barrel. The gun was the easy part.We can't find any shoots here in Texas,so far.I decided to wait and go to some shoots to see if it's what I really want to do before I bought a rifle.Your right,he gave a little over $1,000.00 for his gun,but man is it a beauty. It has a dandy walnut stock, and the wood to metal fit looks like a 20,000 buck gun.Jerry
  11. I'm with Emul8.I like this place a lot.I do wish it had spell check though.Maybe this will force me to lurn to spell better.Jerry
  12. A freind at work had an uncle that was a lifelong batchelor that lived by himself on his farm.He died 2 years ago,and my freind ask me to help him move a few things out of the house. What we found was as bad as Toms pictures. There were dirty dishes from years past piled as high as they would go on the cabnet,so the rest were on the floor. He had to buy more instead of washing them, because no one has that many dishes. He had cats, many, many cats, and had cut a hole in the screen door for them to come and go at will.In the kitchen, there was a pantry as big as some small bedrooms, that he had put a 2x12 across the door, and shoveled dirt in there for the cats to crap in so he wouldn't have to open the door in the winter.Behind the old cabnet type TV,we found a cat skeleton, and it looked like the cat tried to crawl in to get warm, and it bar-b-qued him.My buddy,an old man himself, said several years ago the old man called and told him about his TV being screwed up,so he took a new one and set it on top of the old one.He didn't have any kin closer than neices and nephews, and any time they offered to clean house for him,he would blow and they were afraid he'd stroke out,so they just left him alone. He came from Russia with his parents when he was a small child, and still had the big trunk full of all their family pictures, papers, and keepsakes from Russia, and termites had about eaten up everything paper. When we picked it up,the bottom and what was left stayed on the floor. The crazy thing is,the farm looked like a painting.Almost too perfect.Ya'll have a large day, think I'll pick the house up some.Jerry
  13. You done a beautiful job there Emul8. Funny how, thanks to y'll,we have this new hang out,and now I want a Enfield and Jap 38.I think it would be the berries to have a 303 restored like yours and Goths, and then have a fully sportered one hanging under it on a gun rack.I have 2 perfect Swede 96's,one a Husqvarna 38 and the other a Gustof, and also have 2 '96 sporters, and folks can't believe they're the same guns. Jerry
  14. I was wondering why, after all these years, dust covers have shown up all at once.Clears that up.Thanks AZ. Jerry
  15. Lynn,I just went to Gunbroker and they have several Pa 63's,from $190.00 buy now to $260.00.They tend to run a little high over there,so I'll stick with my $160.00 estimate.Have a great Sat. night T! Jerry
  16. T,a dude at the Ft.Worth gunshow was selling 63's for $160.00,when I bought mine for about 80 bucks, with a $20.00 transfer fee and $10.00 sales tax.I reckon I had about $110.00 in mine maybe 7 years ago.Cheaper Than Dirt has the mags. for,I think 12.00.I'm not a gun expert, and don't ever sell any guns, but if you were to run 4 or 5 mag. full of shells through it and everything worked good,I wouldn't take less than $160.00 for it with 2 mags, and $175.00 with 5.If you shoot it that much with no hick-ups,I don't think you'll want to sell it.They're so thin and small, you can hide it anywhere in a purse or jeans pocket, and it's right between a .380 and 9MM in power.Mine is my favorite tote-around gun.Jerry
  17. AZ,keep me in mind if you decide to sell the Jap.I'm kinda wanting one but sorta don't. Jerry
  18. Dang AZ,I wish you had some way to get the 63 to me,'cause with mine to use as a pattern,I know I could fix it for you. They're just way to simple to not be able to figure out what's wrong if you had one to compare too. When I get home from work tonight,I'll tear into mine and see what holds the mag in.Jerry
  19. I wish you had some way to get the 63 to me,'cause with mine to use as a pattern,I know I could fix it for you. They're just way to simple to not be able to figure out what's wrong if you had one to compare too. When I get home from work tonight,I'll tear into mine and see what holds the mag in.Jerry
  20. Thanks fellers.I now have a plan.I'm going to hunt up a Argy front sight base, soft solder it on,and rust blue it.It does have a military barrel, and I like the idea of hiding a step.If anyone knows where I could get a sight base, holler.Jerry
  21. I've been thinking about Kevin all day too! I think for a while he drove a bus,or was it a cab?A bus I think.Wonder how the liberals will blame the bombing on Bush?Jerry
  22. AZ,my 2 brothers and Dad all have a PA 63 and haven't had any trouble at all except for my little brothers that would fail to feed every now and then.I noticed the lips holding the shells in the mag were tighter than the other 3 guns,so I spread them just a tiny bit and it's never happened again. We shoot almost only Sellier Bellot, but have shot some Silver Bear. It's unbelievable how many rounds that gone through my gun without ever a hang-up.I had the same gun in .380,all steel and blued, brand new in a hard box,and that gun gave me pure hell.It cost $180.00 at a gunshow, and the 2 tone alloy frame PA63 cost $79.00 from SOG.I wish they had more,I'd like to have another.Jerry
  23. Z,which method of attaching a sling swivel to a barrel would you recommend? I know heating it red hot works, that's how starter rings are put on flex plates on cars, and they won't come off even when turning over a big V-8 engine, but your sure right about having it timed right. The sweat on is looking like the way to go,but I sure want-need to hear what you think. Thanks for all your help,Jerry.
  24. Gothmog, what's the sling swivel in front of the maazine for? I don't think I've seen one like that before. That's a dern good shape and looking 303! Jerry
  25. Dang nice work swampy. You done real good on the bolt handle notch.Always seems to be the first thing I look at to form an opinion on a dudes work.Very well done! Jerry
