    Cungle Jarbine:

There's been a lot of No.4Mk1's reworked into No.5's by several importers lately. I've read several reports stating that the wandering zero was a bogus story put out by a high up in the British military to make it ease to go with a semi auto in 7.62mm Nato to get with the mandated program just after WWII? Instead of trying to convert so many No4's to the Nato 7.62mm, which doesn't work well, by the way. I've shot several and never experienced the wandering zero in any. You can verify that it is an origianl by taking it out of the stock and checking for the lightening cuts made on the receivering? I currently own one of the fakes and to my surprise, it shoots very well. of course, the main problem with the jungle carbines is the recoil they generate compared to the full rifles? Hard but not unmanagable.
  2. Are you guys serious? Most of the barrels I've witnessed some else put on had a cheater pipe on the wrench and still plenty of elbow grease. I've put barrels on AR-15's and M14's. With both my main problem was keeping the barrel from turning while spinning the barrel in. Rosen on the inside of the barrel vice jaws, seems to work well for this problem. Why would you invest in a barrel vice and action wrench, if it's that easy? Am I missing something here? I think the Smith & Wesson pistols I've taken off and replaced, used more force than you have described here?
  3. I've read a lot that the 1914 action can be used for comversions in the large magnum calibers. Can the 1917 action also be use for the larger magnum caliber conversions? If not, why? Are the actions different other than caliber?
  4. Both are excellent varmit calibers. The deciding factor for me would be the area being hunted, and the distance that the majorityof his shots will be at. 22.250 works very good here in Illinois but, the 25.06 would have a definate advantage out west in places like Arizona or Wyoming where shots can stretch the limits on calibers. My $.02.
  5. Just got this model 29-2 in a trade. Came with box(some damage) and tools.
  6. Looks more like an Italian paratrooper to me?
