  1. Never thought about that, would make him look rather dapper
  2. Well I've been down this road before, I acquired a type 38 barreled action and just HAD to build sporter out of it. I ordered a stock from Royal Arms (I think that was the name of the place) when they were in El Cajon, Ca., I then ordered a Dayton Traister trigger (would use a Timney now) and sent the action to E.R. Shaw to be rebarreled in their ligest contour .257 Roberts barrel. Had fun building it up, learned lots and came to the conclusion that you can put a Tuxedo on a goat but you still have a goat. On the bright side you will have a darned strong rifle for your son to hunt with.
  3. Got back to the Pawnshop a day to late, didn't know there was another ###### magnet in my area, by the way SM in a nickname a friendly gunshop owner gave me because I like to adopt and take home all the odd ball stuff. I did pick up a Rem 788 that needs a new bolt stop and a magazine for a song, take delivery of it on the 26th. Looks like Brownells will be getting another parts order.
  4. The stock has been chopped as has the barrel. The Mum is intact and there is an aftermarket sight set on the barrel. Rifle is missing floor plate, follower and spring. SHop is asking under $75 if I recall, thinking about picking it up.
