  1. I have thought about setting the barrel back and cleaning up the chamber but I would still have the issue of a 300 savage with the 7.7 bore. Besides, the 45-70 idea appeals to me. This rifle came as part of a package deal with a hacked up 1903a3 springfield that I wanted. It was poorly sporterized (the guy told me it was rechambered to 30-06) and no mum, so after the holidays I will talk to a smith and see about installing the other barrel. Thanks
  2. Hi, I picked up a hacked up type 99 awhile back. It was rechambered to 300 Savage but has a large "void" or ding in the chamber by the case shoulder. I also have a 45-70 barrel that was made by H&R for their Springfield Trapdoor rifle. It looks like the bolt face could be opened up for the rimmed case. Has anyone converted an Arisaka to 45-70? Thanks
