  1. Since you already have rifles to use, you could spread the work and cost over a period of time. Doesn't hurt all at once that way, and you can still end up with what you want......maybe better. Mike
  2. One of the nice things about this board is that we have such a diverse group. This gives us all access to the creativity of others. Oh, and welcome. Since I have retired, I have less time to myself than before, so I don't get by as often as I would like. Too many trips to Alabama. Mike
  3. You may want to give these guys a call to see what they are selling. http://www.rguns.net/016_14.html http://www.militarygunsupply.com/shop2/ind...products_id=325 The rguns are a complete action, the other does not have a trigger guard or small pieces. If you are going to use something else, you can save 20 bucks, other wise, you can't get the extras for 20 bucks....... Mike
  4. Don, your an inspiration to us all.
  5. Don, That is so Cool. Did you convert the floor plate also? Mike
  6. Yes, we do have the#2A, which was built in the 60's, specifially for the 308 nato round. But I don't think the average MK4 is quite up to that.
  7. What can a 303 MK 4 Enfield, safely, be rechambered for? Mike
  8. I read somewhere once that even the bison had a lot to do with keeping the prairies healthy. One of the reasons the herds kept moving was the fact that as they ate the grass down, the thousands of hooves churned the sod allowing the water and nutrients into the soil. Kinda like big hairy dethatchers......

  10. I always imagined retirement was doing what you want to do, not what you had to do.......

  13. I have never had a pierced primer, and I had to grind the right bottom corner off because of it catching on the safety. But it blued really nice, and it was tight fitting, but i would rather have a tight fitting part than a loose one. It looks good, and has done everything I needed it to do........ I am doing a M96 at the moment and I plan to put one on it...... Sorry about pictures, my Son made off with my camera.... Hope this helps...... Mike
  14. Yes, I have one on a '95, 7x57.
  15. Don, That looks really great. Could you throw a couple of measurements out there for a visually challenged one ???? Thanks Mike
  16. Way to go Kenny, That 'ole turk never thought it could look so good....Mike
  17. "Having said that, I have about all of Louis L'Amour's books and some of Zane Gray's. I wouldn't include those books on my list. LC" LC, I would think, that having been said, would qualify for the list. I think Louis L'Amour is one of the finest authors ever....... I also have every one of his books. Mike
  18. Jason, You did a beautiful job on the stock. I was thinking of a RIA in a light walnut, and Gun Kote brush stainless for the metal, and cut a mag down flush, with the stock. Still trying to decide, mean while, I am having the barrel turned smooth, and will put a new crown on when i get it back. Thanks for sharing......Mike
  19. Skeeter, The only case hardening that I have seen and been able to attribute to someone, was at a show south of Raleigh. Doug Turnbull, from New York. He does BEAUTIFUL work. Just depends on how much its worth to you....... http://turnbullrestoration.com/pricelist_2006.html Mike
  20. Roscoedoh, Last Feburary, you were looking to restock a MK 4. What did you ever do with that? I ask because I am now looking to do one..... Thanks Mike
  21. Riceone, if I am not mistaken, you were looking for one a couple of months ago????? http://www.jouster.com/cgi-bin/sales/salec...ames;read=20126
  22. It really doesn't sound right at all. When going for my concealed carry permit, it was taught to shoot them coming thru a window, or a door as it is a crime to break in, but once in, you cannot shoot them unless they threaten you bodily. And if you are able to shoot them you can only do it once, so make it good.... To double tap is excessive force...... Can you beleave that, seems that if they break thru a door or a window, they ought to be fair game, reguardless.
  23. Now I can admit that, that is one thing (out of 1,000's) that I have not done........What happened?
  24. I found this very interesting. Thought maybe some of you might also. http://www.metalwebnews.com/mr.html
