Well, I think the clues are a red herring .... only time will tell I suppose. Branson's socialism is moderating, at least, in no small part due to his interaction with his in laws. As for Thomas being a "bad guy", you may have a point. On the other hand, is his bad character implied to be the result of the intolerance shown to homosexuals at the time? In that case we have a very subtle justification taking place. Note also his rehabilitation was written into the script by making him play the hero and take a beating to spare Jimmy. In any event given his defects of character and homosexuality I strongly doubt any family at the time would have taken him back, especially after having gotten him so successfully out of the way. One would think that they would be thanking their lucky stars ... and to have Bates as the instrument of his return defies common sense. My two cents anyways ...

Is Green the valet who raped Anna? I am going to say, no, Bates didn't kill him ... but was in London and kept that a secret to avoid an accusation. the show is good but has it's annoying moments as politically correct notions creep in. Thomas would never have been brought back into employment for example.
  3. Selling gun stuff ... I am making accessories including an innovative scope mount for the SKS rifle ... I have a copycat so it must be innovative, LOL I put my website as my sig line, let me know if that's a problem at all. Website is magwedge.com, take a look and give me some feedback. If you have some ideas for product I am all ears, although there are limits to my cash, as I have discovered.
  4. My internet business started taking off, keeps me busy ...
  5. Thanks for the warm welcome guys, nice to be back. FC how is the board running? Are we needing contributions to the site?
  6. It's been a while, thought I would check in ... any of the old guard still here?
  7. NC Star makes one, they are in California I believe.
  8. Great news Tony, best wishes to you in the new location.
  9. Thanks all! BTW, I love your avatar 724WD ... a fine looking woman indeed! I've made a bolt disassembly tool for the M14/M1A rifle. It may well work with the Garand too, but I haven't tried it and it may need a bit of adjustment to function properly. I just put together a web site with some pics and contact info, so you can see it there if you wish ... the address is m14doctor.com They are a little on the pricey side but are a very solid unit and better than any other tool I've seen made for the purpose of bolt assembly/disassembly.
  10. Hi again, finally made it back from the general busy-ness that is life. I thought I'd let you fellas in on the fact that a tool I am manufacturing is currently displayed at the SHOT show in Las Vegas .... I'm hoping it gets some interest there, of course. Interest here in Canada has been somewhat muted but it may be due to the smaller market and fewer per capita gun enthusiasts up here. Oh well, as usual here goes nothing!

Well I guess its back to being secret again ...
  12. Hey Horsefly, good to see you post again. I've been away too as my hard drive took a nose dive. I've since bought a new system and have managed to get back in the swing of things.

    What's this about FC?
  14. Hey Flaco, welcome back!
  15. The only surprise here is the speed with which it happened. The growing financial troubles won't improve his image either ...
  16. Very nice ... I wish we could own and shoot them here in Canada. They were put on the 'baby killer' list 15 or 20 years ago, unfortunately.
  17. Thanks guys, that helps ... I have a product I figure on selling to these staes.
  18. Hi guys, I have once again drifted back into the fold ... I am looking for info on your magazine laws. What states require rifles (esp AR15 rifles) to have magazine capacity limited to 10? Anyone know?
  19. Happy Birthday to you all ... but otherwise we agree!
  20. Thanks Jerry, that sounds good! I'll pm you some contact info in a bit.
  21. That's a good looking wood. Thanks for the advice on its brittleness. I will probably pm you for your father's contact info, sounds like a great offer!
  22. I have a couple of these SW ... one still more or less original, and the other appears to have been shortened. I have read of some folks converting the bolt to fire a center fire round which greatly simplifies reloading for this old beast. Whenever I think of the Vetterli it reminds me of Jules Verne ...
  23. Thank you Ikesdad ... I got your pm's with the links, too. It looks like an interesting wood to play with. Any of you Texan folks have access to some pics of the real thing?
  24. I have taken an interest in knives of late, specifically kukhris. I have a couple I'd like to change handles on, and I recalled some talk of mesquite on this site before. So, here are my questions: 1. is this wood suitable as a grip for a heavy chopping blade? 2. where could I get some? 3. what does it look like? (pics anyone?) Thanks in advance guys.
  25. It does look like a rough stretch of road ahead for you fellows ... take care. I'm sure the same thing will creep up here into Canada, But I suspect we'll have a chance to see what happens down south first. I am concerned that it will turn into an all out economic collapse as in the end of the Soviet era. If you haven't done so alreay, a few preparations might be in order.
