  1. I too am tinkering with a split receiver (swede mauser that was chopped when imported in the 60's) you might take a look at these two places. http://www.gunaccessories.com/ExpressSights/scout.asp http://www.scopemounts.com/index.html?main.html#
  2. Part of the reason some of those businesses have gone overseas is the yards of bureaucracy that the Federal govt has created. A case in point look at Michigan. When your "govt" employees outnumber your manufacturing employed you are in serious trouble. When I was in college I got to know my sociology teacher we'll enough that he'd loan me books from his personal library much of which covered the period 1900-1940 in the U.S. After watching Beck and doing my own research I can now understand the look I remember on his face as he discussed "progressives". It is the same look my mother in law gets when she sees a spider, fear and revulsion.
  3. And "science" education in America already is sub standard.
  4. I've been watching for a 94 carbine to get an idea on value and saw this the other day http://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=152472356 Considering I've heard of just the furniture going for 4-5 hundred it looked pretty good. The sling isn't original but when looking at this http://dutchman.rebooty.com/94carbine.html I think the bayonet is correct. Missing the disk but it looked pretty good. I hope it found a good home
