  1. HHMMMMMM well you know what Mr. Barnum said, right? As for what makes a Gunsmith? A. He's gone to that really kewl school in AZ. B. He's been doing the work on his own since he a was a lil tyke at his fathers knee. C. Cause his name is Bubba. I would use the first 2 .Most likly I'd do it myself cause I like working on firearms. The older and rustier the better. I haven't bought a firearm in the last 20 yrs that didn't look like it came from Davy Jone's locker. They all are or were in Rack grade when I finished and looked and fired safely very well. But, I'm no gunsmith. I feel the charge was apropreiate for the situation, who else would do it? Was the guy in a hurry? On vacation, and wanted to get back to range,Hunting, whatever?
  2. Actually it's not a joke. I got one back in 05-06. He worked out of a storage unit in TX. It took about 6 weeks to get due to backorders and suppy problems with Shaw barrels supplying parts. Anyway the comments I got on my finished shortened mini K98 was awesome. Much better looking than Colfields, and the bayonet could still be attached. It sounds like a small ballon popping when fired, couldn't hear it cause of the cetme going off next to me at the range. Feeding was iffy tho. Still needed some work when I lost all my firearms.
  3. WOW, I have got to watch that. On a side note tho, The campaigne covers are the wrong color. They should be a tannish color as the OD color was not approved until after the Span-Am war 1898. And the side vents were a snowflake or big round brass mesh. OD Circa=1900. Just my 2 cents worth. Maybe a dime with inflation now.
  4. HI Century link is Qwest. They still have a bad rep and I won'tuse them.My 2cents. Century link is, if you live where they have it at best a second option. That 20$ a mo is for there dial up, about less than 3mb/s. If you live outside of a small area, outside city limits good luck . even inside city limits you might no get the higher speeds. So be sure to check if your area is in that supplied with the higher 12mb/s speeds. I still prefer cable. No dongles for the phone lines. Either way you have to pay for a modem. ANd cable supports 50mb/s, c-link does not. ciao
  5. So how many veterans do you care for? You can quit the Habit dosen't mean you have to let go of your kids. It just means stopping buying any more, I know hard isn't it. Just think how you will miss the annual inspection and cleaning, or the sound of the report on the range. The joy of seeing the grouping at 100yrd's. Not to mention the focus of mind and body required to get them which will keep you healthy. The price of buying any firearm is rocketing upwards and with or beloved government working hard to remove our right to own.... I would keep them. buy some cosmoline and pvc pipe and store them. Out of sight , out of mind. The next person to own them may not care for them the way you do. I feel your pain. Stevyn
