  1. Yeah, none of the office supply stores have it. One didn't even know what it was. Amazon has it dirt cheap.

For action inletting, try a chisel tipped large sanford sharpie marker. It transfers super easy and no mess whatsoever.  When finished  simply remove it with thinner

I don't have the AI gauges, the regular Swede go gauge can be used as the AI no-go gauge and Manson Reamers sent me the blue prints to make my own AI go gauge since their lead time is 3 months at this time. 6.5x55 Swedish AI std.pdf

    Jeremy

    Wow

That method is ill advised if safety and case longentivity is an issue. The amount of crush from saami to ai varies from one caliber to another.  Could be  .002 could be  .012

  3. Jeremy I build  load & shoot a ton of 6⁵x55 ai. It's an extremely efficient caliber.

I was thinking you were in our co-op. We have the Swede reamer

This is my first 308.  I've standardized on the 7x57 for stuff I don't need.  I have 2 reamers, all 3 gauges in 7x57.  Nothing at all in 308.  So I bought some of that once fired brass as suggested, full length sized it, loaded up some 167gr OTBT Match blemised bullets and 45gr of Varget.  First round:

Looks darn tight to me.  Don't need to stinkin' headspace gauge.

That one went into the hill as I looked the other way with extra safety glasses on and held it away from me.  Next up, a target:

That's at 50', standing, using my computer glasses so I can see the front sight (but not the target, oh well.)  Also still shaky from being sick for the last 6 months.  I'm calling it a shooter.  My experience with junk 7x57 barrels is that they tend to shoot keyholes in a 2-3 ft pattern at 20 feet.  This looks real good.

Ive always been curious if anyone has ever had the bushing come out of the cknverted 7.62 CETME barrels

I got the 7.62 NATO cleaned up and the missing ejector box replaced.  I haven't pulled it from the stock, but it looks pretty good for a hundred dollar rifle today.

This is my Ultrasonic Cleaner.  I use the purple power stuff straight:

Does a good job.  Turn the heat on, set the timer for an hour, come back occasionally and run it a few more hours.  Then take the stuff out, rinse, and I use my wire wheel lightly and a brass tooth brush like thing (HF.)  Here's the 7mm bolt after it got the process and I put the extractor on:

    As a reminder, here's the 7mm "before."

I never would've thought that would affect point of impact.

I need to get to my SKS with the removable magazine. You have to pull the bolt back some, then click the magazine in place, which is a real nuisance. One guy said to grind off the ridges that that get in the way. Not the easiest thing to do. I can see the logic of it.

I wish I could hire out getting my 5' long flintlock stock reproduced, but there's probably no one who does something that long?

I saw this at the local gunshow & got his number if you are interested. He said he'd take anything for it as he's sick of dragging it around.  It's walnut & all of 5ft

I tried to PM you this but it would only let me add an image via URL & lm just not able to

Can you buy a piece of maple somewhere to experiment on?

I have several blanks and scraps of this. A friend of mine over on mausercentral recommended this product called aquafortis. It's pretty caustic (NH²O³) but really turns color when heated

  7. I've never seen the correct bolt protrude past the c-ring.

To fit the barrel,  it's torqued to the c-ring, so I'd look in the direction of a different bolt. Both the 24/47 & m48 barrels are safty breached and require a bolt without the nub extension

Oh...Maybe I take you Up on that.. But... This Particular K.Kale came to me already "worked over" I fear it may have had the Shoulders (of the Action) both pushed back...Maybe too far.. the Extractors (some of them) run right into the rear of the barrel... what I my try to do is get a rem 700 bbl, and Not take all of the "ring" off.

Frustrating darn thing...I should Off it!!!

    I really Appreciate that Offer...

Take a look at your bolt and extractor where it fits into the slot it front. Many are worn excessively resulting in the extractor sliding too far forward.  It will hit the barrel upon closing and slide rearward
