  1. Thanks AzRednek, I did place a post on the Castboolits link. Thanks again, Mike
  2. Thanks AzRednek, I looked at the link. These molds look like what I need. I'll look at the Lee handles also. Thanks again, Mike
  3. Can anyone recommend a .224 and .264 cast mold? I need something close to 55 grains. I would like to use these in a 222, 223, 22-250 and 6.5x55 (140 - 160 grain). I don't think Lee makes molds for these calibers. Any suggestions appreciated. Mike
  4. Finally got around to building a 22-250 on an 98 action. Took the rifle to the range today to shoot five round groups to find a good load. After shooting the first group, I got to wondering if I should clean the barrel before shooting the next group of five. I did not clean between the five groups and the best I could get was 7/8 inch at 100 yards. I need to bed the stock and get a good trigger before I go any further. Finally, my question is this; How often do you clean your barrel when trying to develop a load? Thanks, Mike
  5. I have a Lee 160 grain 309 cast round nose bullet mold and was wondering if anyone uses a round nose cast bullet in a Wind 94? I didn't want to buy another mold.
  6. I'll give the screws a try. I was planning on using the NODAK SPUD LLC (NDS-65) reeciver. Thanks for your reply. Mike
  7. Anyone out there built a AMD65 using screws? I don't have a press to remove the barrel so I drilled out the rivets in the trunion. I was planning to tap the holes and use screws to attach the receiver. Anyone have any suggestions or comments on using scews. Mike
  8. Thanks for the replies. After alittle research I purchased a Tantal from Atlantic Arms. I've had the rifle to the range a couple of times, learning the weapon and sighting in. Even with my old eyes I can still hit water bottles at a 100 yards and thats good enough for me. I'm very pleased with the rifle and would recommend it to anyone wanting a accurate and fun rifle. Mike
  9. Sorry THOR, I don't have anything for the Texan press. I do go to yard sales and flee markets and sometime see different presses. I'll keep you in mind and contact you if I find anything. Mike
  10. Thanks to everyone who replied.
  11. I have everything I need to build a 22-250 using a 98 Mauser action but seems like I read awhile back that they may be problems with the magazine. If so what do I do about that and will I have other problems with the 22-250 round?
  12. I've been thinking about buying a Polish Tantal 5.45x39 from Center fire systems. Anyone have any experience with these?
  13. Makes sense, I'll give it a try. Thanks, Mike
  14. How do you glass bed an action with no recoil lug? Like the Romanian 22 trainer, which has no recoil lug or recoil surface that I can see. If this is possible does anyone have an old Romanian trainer stock they want to sale? Mike
  15. Thanks Z1R, I sent you a message. Mike
  16. Thanks karlunity, I'll check out Wal-mart.
  17. Anyone have a sling swivel for a Romanian 1969 22 Trainer? Could also use a sling. Thanks.
  18. Thanks Clemson for the info. I checked the model number on this press and its a Super model 3, built like a tank, I use it for heavy work. I sure hated to see Herter's stop making reloading equipment. Thanks again
  19. I bought an old Herter's press awhile back and it came with a few shell holders and a RCBS shell holder adapter. Does anyone know what shell holders 27,19, 13 and #5 will fit? Thanks in advance.
  20. I would like to hear from anyone using a "Lead Sled" to help in load development. They seem like a good idea on the surface but I was wondering if there were any draw backs that I'm not aware of? I always wonder if that "flyer" was me or the ammo. Christmas is coming and I thought the "Lead Sled" may be a good item to put on my want list.
