Why This Country Is In Trouble.

We can see the intelligence in this unknown individuals letter to the editor as they go off topic talking about gun control and unnatural birth. Maybe their bitterness stems from their own history of being a butthole baby and the fact that that intelligence in their case is actually the opposite. Their ignorance becomes more apparent as we can also see two sentences started with the word "but" made worse with "but because". I would want my name withheld also if I had to admit I was unable to look up statistics for crime rates in a small town in North Cackalacky.

Can you say tongue-in-cheek? That, my friend, is an example of satire at its finest!

Karl I honestly know and have worked with people that think that way. As a union officer during a period I worked for the Post Office. I had to defend a female employee facing disciplinary action for trying to put a MD on a guilt trip. The Dr's brother is a Hollywood celebrity as were many in his family. Simply no way a MD earns enough to live in a mansion with live-in butlers, maids, security, ground keepers etc. The employee while delivering signature mail on a Saturday and the Dr's personal assistant having weekends off. She tried to put him on a guilt trip. According to the complaint she demanded the Dr to provide rooms to homeless people, giving the homeless use of his classic cars. After asking him how much money he makes and telling him he only needs one car. She recited some poem about the greedy needing to take care of the needy.

After the Dr's complaint channeled through a congressional source and the SHTF. I could not convince the woman she was wrong. She became irritated at the union for not defending her spread the wealth position. After I told her it was the Dr's money to spend anyway he pleased. She demanded and fortunately for me she got another union representative. After she returned from an unpaid suspension she claimed having a lawyer. Was going to sue me, the Dr and the union. What was really peculiar she couldn't understand why she wasn't paid during the suspension. While we were lined up in front of the time clock. She was trying verbally and loudly to put me down for selling her out costing her money. While I ignored her rant another employee, a black woman that was a productive model employee spoke up for me. "What did you expect, a paid vacation". While I was out of hearing range, I was told the two argued. The model employee told her she was the reason white people say things like race card. About a year later the problem woman was arrested for attempted murder.

I'm sure anybody reading my rant has known somebody that believes the world owes them a living. Problem is their numbers are rapidly growing. As long as, as O-Reilly says it "free stuff". Voters not wanting to give up the govt teat will continue to vote for Demoncrats. The letter may have been tongue in cheek but I have been personally acquainted with people that have that exact type of mind set. I wouldn't be surprised if the letter was real with the editorial staff correcting English and punctuation errors. The trouble making employee, a transferee from Chicago had trouble believing the union and co-workers didn't hit the street with a picket line. I was told she was at the union's office demanding a picket at the Post Office, the Dr's home and at whomever the Congressman or Senator's office that handled the complaint. Chicago postal workers had previously got around the law prohibiting fed employees from striking by calling it a racial demonstration. Truth is Jesse Jackson saved their butts and jobs. Claiming the wildcat strike was organized by his Operation Push.

OK and sorry for the rant. I'm relieving life's frustrations at my keyboard. I'm going to turn off the talk radio, bust a Valium in half and relax in front of the TV watching something fictional.

What I have to add now is right inline with this topic. Back home the city just replaced valves and water meters due to high lead content. I've been experiencing this unexplained decline in health. Feet numbness, burning pain in toes, soreness in my joints, numb lips, blurry vision, mood swings, bloating and bladder issues. Away from home it starts to clear up a bit but not much. My legs itch all the time.

Last year almost a year ago I lost someone very close to me and I've been bawling every day with the most unimaginable grief since. When I post stuff it takes me awhile. I reread and edit a lot. I joined this board last fall, started posts numerous times and never had my thoughts together enough to post anything until a few weeks ago.

My headaches have gone down quite a bit while I've been in Eugene and so has the constant ringing in my ears. I still go to the bathroom about every 45 minutes. I'm lucky if I get the amount that would fill a shot glass out most of the time. I should be angry now, but I've been blaming myself for a lot of my problems, I've been grasping at an anchor to bring me back from the brink of ranting anger.

Granted everyone probably proofreads their posts. Until recently I haven't had the clarity of thought to start and finish a post. I also don't drink much alcohol. My recent episode was also my last as I don't like losing control. I've been moving faster each day doing this house repair/remodel and now I just want to get it done so I can see a doctor. At 47 years old there could be other issues causing my health problems but I thought lead in water was the least of my worries. Now I understand why I go to bed each night hoping it's the last.

Some of this may have been TMI. Soon I'll be home using more than my iPad and I can post a picture of my great grandfather in his Kazak uniform.

Forget the Valium. I'd like a bottle of laudanum right now.

Bubba make a Dr's apt, tell him the same you said here and I highly suspect you will be on the right track by the time you depart from the Dr's office. Modern medicine and an experimental drug saved my ass. A very sharp DO didn't like being told she was wrong and challenged the opinion of others to just keep me comfortable. Long story short, I'm here to write about it.

Despite the seriousness of what ever it is bothering you. There is likely a course of treatment that will help. Very simply don't fall into the same mind-set I did entrapped in self pity. Like a fist fight, never give up and keep fighting. Possibly you will need to take a few meds daily, big deal!! I can take a pill every morning and empty my bladder with ease or I can and have been stubborn, say screw the pills and be running back and forth to the pisser every 15 minutes. Call and make a Dr's apt tomorrow. In the meantime drastically cut or eliminate your intake of coffee and/or cigarettes, it might help.

Years ago I found myself feeling better when away from home for extended periods of time. Turned out to be a severe allergy to Mulberry and Mesquite trees. Cost me about a G having the trees removed but with in 30 days a 100% turn around. Don't know what I spent annually on allergy pills, Sudafed, inhalers and cortisone anti-itch creams but I'm sure the savings eventually paid for the tree service. I never would have figured it out on my own. It took the intervention of a good Dr to figure it out.

The only way people like the one you reference exist in America, is because we've stood back and allowed it -

Absolutely right, political correctness is a major cause in my opinion. Another factor is the welfare system. Why flip burgers or take an entry level job for minimum wage. It is no longer a matter of pride but economics. Welfare, food stamps, free medical, subsidized housing and probably numerous other bennys I'm not aware of. All the so-called "free stuff" add up to more $$'s in one's pocket. Simply put, why work taking an entry level job and give up the govt handouts. Although Obama by bureaucratic decree eliminated workfare programs. The workfare system even before Obama screwed with it. Discouraged voluntary participation. What ever the participant earned was deducted from the free-bees, there was little if any financial incentive. Teenage woman after dropping out of high school know the easiest way to a monthly check and a place to live, is to have a couple of babies. So not only are they discouraged not to work. The motivation to continue and complete an education is also lost.

and criminal politicians and union leaders have encouraged and used those people to entrench themselves in power, all the while pilfering their lavish lifestyles from the wallets of working Americans.

The welfare system as I see it is a politician's way to buy votes with the taxpayer footing the bill. Union bosses buying political support via campaign donations. Get the politicians to turn a blind eye to union corruption and use their political clout to force businesses to give in to union demands to either avoid or end a strike. The average union member doesn't have the slightest idea of what goes on behind closed doors. He/she just sees their paycheck increase and give credit to the corrupt union bosses.

I was a union leader for apx 12 years. I saw myself as a union leader, not a union boss. In my local our books were squeaky clean. Our local did have a leader that upon his re-election was in my opinion no longer a leader but became a union boss. Once he was caught with his hands in the cookie jar with unnecessary travel vouchers he was history.

I don't see all union leaders as corrupt. I am still proud of the job I did as a union leader. I became active after watching USPS mgmt. harassing older employees into an early retirement. The majority of the older employees when I started in 1978 were WW2 or Korea vets. I can't disagree they were slower working than a recent high school grad but the way many were treated was outright disgraceful.

That kick started me seeking an elected position believing I could make a difference. The guy I worked next to in the morning while we sorted our mail for delivery. He was former WW2 Marine Island Hopper. Intending to show respect to our managers he always responded "aye aye sir". He mistakenly out of habit responded with aye aye sir to a bull dike manager. He immediately apologized and I intervened saying he says that to everybody trying to convince her he wasn't trying to insult her. Without going into all the details I watched that woman harass that poor guy into tears constantly riding his ass. I was eventually disciplined for unauthorized deviation. If I finished my delivery route early I would go give him a hand. She used to pile more work on him than he could possibly do and return and be off the clock in 8 hours.

I saw many of the older Vets harassed in a similar manner so a manager could earn a few brownie points and feather in their cap getting another to retire, making room for a younger more productive employee. Mgmt didn't care if he was slow because of a war wound. To reach the maximum retirement pay a USPS employee needs 40 years. Their time in the military could be combined so most the WW2 vets were eligible for the max pension in the early to mid 80's. The USPS was under pressure from Congress to have a 10-12% black workforce and in the mid 80's the pressure was on for a 50% female workforce. Needing to make room. First it was WW2 vets and later Korean War vets. If there was ever a need for an employee union I saw it with my own two eyes.

Something we HAVE to face in this Country - some Citizens ARE our enemies.

I don't see them as the enemy, not yet. In my perception I view them as blood sucking ticks. I spent many years delivering those monthly welfare checks, Social Security checks to foreigners that never contributed a dime, food stamps to drug dealers. They contribute nothing to society other than providing policeman, prison guards, social workers and unfortunately politicians with job security.

Sorry!! Caught myself rambling away thinking out loud on my keyboard again. My apologies if I bored anybody here looking for the details of a rifle project.

Working on the doctor appointment. Don't smoke, haven't had coffee in over a week. I got two days of work done at the house here putting felt down between the subfloor. Today I moved stuff out of the living room to lay the felt down there and get the particle board done. I felt to drained to do anything after that but I'm still kicking. The advice is good and I thank you for it. I've been leery of going to a doctor mostly because I can't afford it and also because I don't like anyone touching me. I don't really want to go to a VA hospital. Just tired and glad I know it's not my fault.

Bubba I had about a 90 day period caught with my pants down having my Fed employees health insurance mistakenly canceled and awaiting Medicare coverage to start. I was seeing numerous Dr's, specialists mostly. I didn't have a single Dr that wouldn't work with me on the money part. If you don't like being touched, tell the Dr up front. One of my X's was the same way and found a cooperative Dr that wouldn't touch her unless necessary. He explained during the exam why and what he was looking or feeling for. She didn't seem to mind when I accompanied her with a complaint of shooting pains from her neck to her shoulder. As the Dr manipulated her neck and then her shoulder he told us exactly what he was doing and looking for. The bed side manner of a VA Dr may not be the best but the price is right especially when $$'s are tight.

Can I go to a VA hospital? My separation date was 31 August 1987. Actually thinking of re enlisting before I turn 62. I loathe the thought of being the platoon leader if I do basic again. I like the idea of making someone with a profile, trying to get out of fire guard, go explain it to the drill on CQ.
