ahoyza
Hi, Has anyone tried to continue using stripper clips after rebarreling to another caliber such as 30.06? I noticed 4 fit nicely on a clip. Thanks, Ahoyza
Sailormilan2
30-06 rim is the same as the 8mm Mauser/7mm/7.65mm rim(as well it should be since it was copied from the 7mm Mauser round) so it should fit stripper clips with no problems. However, since the 30-06 is longer than the 8mm round, some long loaded 30-06 rounds may not feed well, since the tips of the bullets may hit the rear of the front receiver ring. Many Military conversions have the rear of the front ring notched for this reason. A 308Win/7.62NATO case may not work as well, since the rim thickness is .005" thicker than that of the above mentioned rounds and is about .054" thick. 7.62NATO was designed for full auto/semi auto weapons, so needed a thicker rim. donmarkey
No but out hunting I use them to hold extra rounds in my pocket or in the cab of the truck. Keeps them handy and prevents them for rolling around. Don

ken98k
I haven't used them for other calibers but I just picked up a few for my Sweedish 94 truck gun.
