AzRednek
I have what I guess is 2nd or 3rd cousin, my Grandfather's cousin. He was MIA, assumed dead and as far as I've been told. His body or dog tags never found. According to my Grandfather a WW1 Medic. When soldiers were buried deep in the trenches under tons of dirt from explosions. Rarely were their remains uncovered unless another trench was dug. My Grandfather never really like talking about the war. He did tell me he was once tasked with removing dog tags from soldier's bodies that were uncovered many months after their death as new trenches were dug. AzRednek
That had to be terrible for the psyche. That among other things likely had much to do with him never wanting to talk about the war. The only thing he ever discussed with a smile were the boat rides to and from Europe and stopping along the way home to return French Moroccan troops.
