He would work a few months of the year earning enough to get by on his then isolated land. His living quarters were a pre-WW2 railroad ice car. My twin sons inherited the land and it is now valuable. Movie stars and people with money have built get-away homes after the area was electrified. 10,000 feet plus for a well or have water hauled in.
