yumastepside
Does anyone have a handload that approximates the original military load for a Swedish ljungman? Roger
Dr.Hess
What was the original bullet weight, Rog? I have some load data for it that "I found on the internet, it must be true," but there's 288 different loads.
yumastepside
I think they were 156 gr round nose...according to wiki....that's the easy bit, its the power or velocity that concerns me, I don't want to hammer the action Roger
yumastepside
oop's, my mistake...it's a 42b, so it uses 140gr spitzers..... Roger
Dr.Hess
This is what I have: A Mauser is a plenty strong action. It can take about anything you can throw at it. You can also download the SAAMI official published PDF and look up the maximum pressure rating for that round. But anything in the above chart should be quite safe. You can double check them with the published load data from the powder companies.
AzRednek
Don't know if they still do. A few times I contacted Hodgden via a contact link on their website and received a prompt responce. Chances are good you might find the data you need on their website. Unfortunately the data will be limited to Hodgden powders.
