FC
Yeah, well, I learned through the school of hard knocks today. I couldn't get the tapes off one end, so I made a cut with a box cutter through the tapes. I saw white, then the battery glowed progressively red, then lit up like a sparkler! The phone is toast! Now I know why an airliner went down thanks to a lithium battery.
Dr.Hess
That's a bad one. I think a heat gun on the tape/glue is the way to loosen it. I got my friend to replace the battery in my Galaxy S7Edge a couple months ago. I was still recovering from a very bad strep infection and my hands were still shaking too much. It didn't need the heat gun as teh battery had already expanded to the point that the case was already apart. Probably lucky it didn't catch fire by itself. FC
It reminded me of the magnesium in water experiment.
