M14 stock

Recommended Posts

I've just finished putting together another M14 style rifle. I wanted a nice looking piece of wood on it, and was considering a USGI "Big Red" style walnut stock.

Then, I stumbled across this stock on EvilBay, and I had one of those, "I gots to have it" moment. I could see the dark horizontal lines in it, and that was enough for me.

When it finally arrived yesterday, it was much better than the photos showed. So, here it is with one coat of thinned Teak Oil. Brushed on liberally, rubbed, then wiped down.

Nice piece of wood!

Got that right. How close if it’s wood does the hanguard match? A M1A has been on my bucket list for years. Came close a few years ago. I was offering my WW2 dated, USMC marked H&R Leatherneck 22 and a 1917 Eddystone. We agreed but he backed out after discovering my Eddystone was a WW2 refurb with a blued steel trigger guard instead of Parkerized.
