.50 cal blew up and severely injured guy

I saw that some time ago.  He was firing a super armor piercing sabot round, discontinued, though it, There's a video that he was making when it blew.  The military field manual for the round specifically says to NOT fire it in a weapon that has a muzzle break.  That rifle he was using has a muzzle break.  I think the consensus was that the sabot material built up inside the muzzle break area or the barrel, causing a high pressure condition which blew the receiver.  I don't care for the "screw this cap on the back" type of receiver designs.  Oh, safe and all if everything goes right, but this one didn't work out at all, did it?
