Recall that the original test of the 9mm, comparing to the 45ACP back around WWI, they were shooting live cows. They determined that the 45 was better, even though the cow shot with the 9mm fell over dead and the one shot with the 45 did not. "Lucky shot...." I always suspected the outcome was judged "'Cause 'Merica!" And there was that study you linked to earlier where 380 and up all had about the same results in shootings.
