I never would have thought of his bench dog idea where there's a leg to it. I have a couple metal ones. That's an expensive chisel!

I had to watch the whole thing.  He says it's his vacation.  Damn, hell of a way to spend your vacation.  And he moves around those logs and assemblies that must way 2-300 lbs like they are nothing.

He mad the chisel himself.  There's another youtoobe of him making it.  And he made that giant blade thing too, from a piece of a car spring.  Another vid on that.  The guy has talent. 

 

One vid shows his technique for cutting boards out of logs with nothing but a chainsaw.  I have a log I need to cut up.  It's an elm, and I was hoping to make a gun stock out of a piece of it, if I can get to it before it rots.

He's a natural born engineer. There's plenty of guys around here that don't do jack squat with their lives around here. A couple miles from here there's a pile of pallets next to the road. The bros sit around a burn barrel and visit for hours on end. I'd much rather hang out with a guy like on the video with some ambition.
