My book say's mfg. 1970-85 Model 117 is 357, 6 shot, 2 3/4, 4(heavy), or 6 in barrel, adj. sights, checkered walnut grips, square butt.

60%-$140, 70%-$150, 80%-$160, 90%-$185, 95%-$195, 98%-$225, 100%-$300

Add $15 for target grips.

Model 717 Stainless version of model 117

95%-$230, 98%-$255, 100%-$300

500 stainless models were made for the Calif. Highway Patrol in 38 spl. and are marked CHP. A premium may exsist for this in some areas.

Hope this helps,

"Blue Book of Gun Values" Available at any book store. Another good purchase is "Standard Catalog of Firearms". As far as a strictly Ruger book goes I can not help you. I find that having the current editions of the above books gives me a good value guide. One just lists prices while the other also has pics.
