Without ever firing the 45acp above, I picked up a "460 Rowland" kit from www.clarkcustomguns.com

It's a drop in kit that increases a 45acp to near 44mag power.

I also replaced the factory grip panels and got a  shorter trigger.

It shoots great and recoil is similar to a 357mag.

I looked at my load data for that, and it is right in the middle of 44MAG power levels.  Very impressive.  What do you use for brass?  Can you cut down 30-06 or 308?

I was able to find factory ammo and starline brass. The brass looks just like 45 acp but 1/16 longer, although it is loaded to the same length as 45acp.

It is also much stronger than standard 45 brass and not interchangeable.

The new trigger, although sold as a "short trigger" is still longer than I like, so I ordered a GI surplus from Numrich.

These things are like eating potato chips, you just cant stop a one.  https://tisasusa.com/

I bought these over the last 2 months from Gunbroker for $349 to $430 each.
I'm thinking about a Tank Commander 9mm now.

Clockwise from the top, Service special 45, Duty 45 (now a 460 Rowland), Tank Commander 45, Carry 9mm (soon to be a 38 Super)
