And they did give him a silver star for it afterwards. Like American Sniper, if you've read the book. He was overwatch on an Army operation. An Iraqi was set up to ambush them as they walked up. He killed the Iraqi. A crowd gathers, the guy's AK disappears, woman crying, screaming that he was just standing there and got killed. The Army guy in charge, I forget, Captain? Major? Tried to get Chris Kyle court martialed for killing an "unarmed" guy. After all that blew over, the Army guy wanted Kyle to provide overwatch cover for his unit again! Kyle told him to pound sand.
