Owlet

My dog found a screech owlet trapped between my fence and railroad ties. No telling how long it was there. I have it water with an eye dropper. Avian rescue was called. She said they don’t drink water normally, and could aspirate. They get moisture from bugs and rodents. I put it in a tipped over bin by the trees.

Do the rescue people pick them up to rehab them, or give "how to's"?

A lady on the phone said they take injured birds. She said this one looks okay. She told us what to do. she said not to give water in a dropper because the airway is under the tongue. They get moisture from insects and rodents. She said the climb trees.
The dog found another one under some cardboard. Both are gone, but I saw one up a tree.

I guess momma pushed them out of the nest.  Should be plenty of bugs to eat.  Certainly are around here.

Thss as ts what I’m guessing. They sure are vulnerable when they don’t fly well.
