We watch Japanese movies in Japanese with English subs, and pulling bits of culture from the movies, man, they "have issues." Killing each other during their war lord era seemed to be quite normal, as well as slavery and forced prostitution. The Zatoichi series is excellent, if you ever want to go down that rabbit hole. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zatoichi I think there were some TV shows on it too, but the original movies made in the 60's to early 70's are the ones to watch.
