usmc0332
Here is a link with a good description of a GEHA Mauser shotgun. I enjoy shooting my fathers Geha, tho we have only used low base, mild loads for it during my shooting days. I know my dad used to duck hunt with it in the early 70's. It is a neat gun, and as useful as a full-choke shotgun with low powered loads can be. For a simple to use slug-gun, an NEF break-open is not a bad, nor expensive choice. I like how singles handle. Racepres
Saw a geha 12 ga at the show today, very cool. The bolt face seems to be a removeable head. Bet it can handle better than low brass, but why try to stress it at this time? Just a neat piece of history. MV
tinkerfive
M98 Bolt diameter is 0.692" 20ga. Shell head diameter is 0.693" 20ga. shell rim diameter is 0.755" The bolt (without barrel) closes all but about an eighth turn on the shell - the shell rim barley lodging on the inner torque shoulder. First off I've joined you and bought a 20guage barrel at a show yesterday. How are you getting the rim past the locking lugs? have you opened them up by .031 each? bubbamauser
I used a dremel with a stone to open it up, also opened up the inner ring so it will clear. I did need to take a little off the top upper left raceway but just a couple of file strokes. I ground the bolt and the only overhang is a little of the rim, the elector looks like its gonna be a pain in the ass but so far this is doable
tinkerfive
So no concern about the loss of contact area for the locking lugs since the pressure is so reduced then I take it?
bubbamauser
It looks like it will be .101 on each bolt lug the pressure will be under 12,000 psi what do you think? http://www.hodgdon.com/data/shotshel/203remni.php

I haven't checked but I doubt that they even exceed 1oz. I don't remember Kanahuzen mentioning shot gun conversion. I'll have to go back and check his and other books since it was mentioned in the other post. Tinker

Clark
There must be plenty of them, or they would not be so cheap at the gun shows. I typically see them at $80 ~ $100 ask price http://texastradingpost.com/militaria/geha.html

So far it doesnt seem any of the other mods listed will be necessary for 20ga
