.223 Mag, Which Is Most Narrow

Guys I want to build a .223 bolt gun on an 03 Turk Mauser.

To deal with the smaller head it was suggested to fit a magazine

designed for the .223 inside the Mauser mag well.

I have a few friends with AR-15's and it looks like the Mauser

mag well would have to be made paper thin toward the front

to accomidate an AR-15 mag due to the taper of the Mauser mag well.

I was wondering if a Ruger mini 14 or some other readily available

.223 magazine would be any more narrow than the AR-15 mag.

Even 1/8" would make a world of difference.

Thanks

Tinker

A Ruger mini-14 fits like it was made for a regular 98 and should fit fine in the 03 as well.

I made a plastic spacer to keep the magazine from rocking.

I am waiting for Rod (Tanglewood) to modify the bolt face for me.
