Article From La Times

This is supposedly from the newspaper, but since I do not subscribe to that one, maybe someone from that area can tell us if it is true--

Subject: Illegal aliens report from the L.A. Times

This is from the L.A. Times... (Surprising) Think about this...

1. 40% of all workers in L. A. County (L. A. County has 10 million people) are

working for cash and not paying taxes. This was because they are predominantly

illegal immigrants, working without a green card.

2. 95% of warrants for murder in Los Angeles are for illegal aliens.

3. 75% of people on the most wanted list in Los Angeles are illegal aliens.

4. Over 2/3's of all births in Los Angeles County are to illegal alien

Mexicans on Medi-Cal whose births were paid for by taxpayers.

5. Nearly 25% of all inmates in California detention centers are Mexican

nationals here illegally.

6. Over 300,000 illegal aliens in Los Angeles County are living in garages.

7. The FBI reports half of all gang members in Los Angeles are most likely

illegal aliens from south of the border.

8. Nearly 60% of all occupants of HUD properties are illegal.

9. 21 radio stations in L. A. are Spanish speaking.

10. In L. A. County 5.1 million people speak English. 3.9 million speak

Spanish (10.2 million people in L. A. County).

(All 10 from the Los Angeles Times)

Less than 2% of illegal aliens are picking our crops but 29% are on welfare.

Over 70% of the United States annual population growth (and over 90% of

California, Florida, and New York) results from immigration.

The cost of immigration to the American taxpayer in 1997 was a NET

(after subtracting taxes immigrants pay) $70 BILLION a year, [Professor

Donald Huddle, Rice University].

The lifetime fiscal impact (taxes paid minus services used) for the average

adult Mexican immigrant is a NEGATIVE

29% of inmates in federal prisons are illegal aliens.

If they can come to this country to raise Hell and march by the thousands,

Why can't they take charge over the corruption in their own country?

We are fools for letting this continue.

I seriously doubt a whole bunch of these alleged facts, fritz-

Here's another side.

I had breakfast Thursday with a good friend, a restaurateur. He has two restaurants.

I guess there's going to be a walkout tomorrow, and he's concerned.

He's also concerned about his employees, one of whom is a cook who has been working for him for 15 years.

The cook apparently has a fake SS card.

In the restaurant business, the employees present (fake) credentials, and swear that they're here legally.

The employer is therefore off the hook, legally.

For 15 years this cook has been working two jobs in town, and having Social Security taxes deducted.

He, and many, many other hard working illegals will never see a penny of benefit from the years that they've been paying into the fund.

Que lastima.

flaco, so why doesnt this hardworking, otherwise honest worker go ahead and become a citizen? i realize have used a fake SS card for all those years may cause problems, but that's part of breaking the law, you have to live with the consequenses. so should this illegal be granted citizenship just because he's been here for so long? what about his wife and kids? should they be granted citizenship just because they've been here so long with a father that works 2 jobs to support them? where is the line that says illegal is illegal, no matter how hard a worker the guy or gal is? just because someone is a hard worker does not make them automatically qualified to be granted citzenship. you have to go throught the process, just like the millions of immigrants that have come before that did it the right way. i, and i think most, have no problem with those that follow the rules, but you have to follow ALL the rules. just as every man is created equal, every man should have to play by the same set of rules, be you an immigrant, minority, woman, native - rules are rules. right?

There are several Billion people in the old USSR..China..Africa..etc that want to come to the USA, shall we open the doors?

Heck, if all people are equal, should not ALL people enjoy the same equal rights as the illegal cook?

Karl for fair play.

The restaurateur is both an exploiter of the honest working man by employing an illegal for lower pay and a criminal for violating the laws of the USA. He can go to hell..after doing ten years in the pen.

He cannot check the validity of a social security card? But I bet he sure checks the validity of VISA and Master cards..I despise him more than I resent the cook.

Comrade, you are correct in your acessment of this restaurateur (if that is what he wants to be called).

He/she is aiding and abetting a criminal.

Hell, I know that is a hard pill for some liberals to swallow, but what this fellow (and too many other GREEDY fellows) does is illegal.

I wonder if he/she reduces the price of the meals he/she serves because he/she uses cheap illegal labor?

I doubt it, since they are only in the business to fatten their bank accounts by using illegal workers.

It's out of your and my hands now. Only our elected officials can stop this thing of making a mockery of the law. At least I sleep better at night knowing that I don't hire (aid/abet) illegal workers. Does that make me special?

It appears so, as the greedy ones don't give a schitt about the law. At least I am above them. But since they don't give a schitt, only the law of the land can rein them in.

I am waiting for that to happen.

But I ain't holding my breath.

And the greedy sob should be worried if his help don't show up tomorrow. That would make an impression on him/her that would impact the old pocket book. I agree, To hell with 'em!
