karlunity Posted May 7, 2006 Report Share Posted May 7, 2006 One of my old students came to speak to the class Friday. He has done two tours in Iraq and is heading back for a third as a "contractor". He told the class that most of the country is glad we are there and that the war IS being won. Most of what we see on TV comes from three provinces that are Sunni. They ran the place under Saddam and want power back. Schools are going up, roads being build..bad guys zapped. The kids asked him how the troops felt, he said he felt safer there than in LA.!!!!
