AzRednek
Great article with a lot of good pictures. I visited there about 7-8 years ago, was pressed for time and didn't get to spend anywhere near the time there I would have liked. I was disappointed the article didn't mention my favorite portion of the museum, the extensive collection of captured weapons from the American Indian Wars. The serial numbered 2, 03 Springfield is very interesting but the captured Indian weapons are all unique one of a kind. All were uniquely decorated and many of the repairs were outright genius. If you are ever in the Illinois Quad City area, take an afternoon and visit the museum. Many unique prototypes you will never see elsewhere. Well worth the time, no charge but donations or gift shop purchases I'm sure are appreciated.
