karlunity
Speaking of the noble public right to know. I want know more about the two AMERICAN troops murdered by the terrorists in Iraq. That story sure got buried. Karl
Doble Troble
The media decided you don't need to know more about that - you're an American - you're part of the problem. What you do need to know about is the fact that we were secretly tracking exchange of funds through Belgum. That will help you and the terrorists better understand the situation. The terrorists already know everything about the murder of the two American servicemen.
fritz
I'm with you Karl. One of the soldiers was a Texan. Their death (was it by beheading?) should be reason to take action, in one way or the other. fritz
Guest Uncle Tye
There is a trend in America to use the "Blogs" for news dissemination, the popular belief is that within a score of years......all printed media will be dedicated to local issues. I hope that the predictions are true and the date of the death of so called "National News papers/magazines" is earlier than expected. It is my opinion that the U.S. mainstream media is greater threat to the security of this nation than all outside dangers combined. What can be done about this? Support those in the media like Stossel at ABC and Fox news, while this won't end the leftist destruction it will help strengthen those that oppose Americas internal enemies. My local news paper has a definite bias towards liberalism and socialism.....I urge all my friends to cease buying the "rag" and to E-mail or write to advertise there that I will NOT buy their product or service as long as they give support to the enemy......most cases I get no acknowledgement of my efforts, but....sometimes I get results in the form of a letter stating that the advertisor will no longer use the newspaper to advertise. Small victory I admit....but any victory is better than defeat.
FC
Tye, reminds me- the Killeen Herald had an editorial lamenting that during the Christmas buying season both 4th I.D. and 1st Cav. will be gone for 6 weeks. Yup, real danged important to remember the reason for the season. The paper and merchants think that "the holidays" is for them! The paper said it might print my letter in reply. Guest Uncle Tye
Yep....Tony, I wish to make an announcement: The worlds greatest oxymoron has been found!......it is the term: "Journalistic Integrity"...... and ,co-incidentally, it is also a huge joke....... Doble Troble
That would be a real gut-buster if the consequences were easier to take.
FC
Today at church, Specialist Gebur, killed in Iraq about a month ago was honored by playing taps (live). His wife was there in uniform. She's a sergeant. I don't know her personally, but she was crying. Gee, that wasn't on the news. The pastor said that if he saw someone burning the flag he'd put the whoop on them. Said he thinks he could do the greeter job at Walmart if he got fired. He's got some good sermons online. www.membc.org. The May 28th sermon on When is it Right to Fight" would strike a cord with veterans.
flaco
Just curious as to what information, Karl, in particular you suspect the media have blacked out. Have they neglected to pass along info from a press release or news conference? Say, for instance, you were in the press in Iraq, what kind of questions would you want answered? About this story? I guess we all take for granted that these boys' comrades are looking for a little payback. Pretty tough if you don't know who the bad guys are, and, as often as not, we don't. It's the nature of this war. Did find this, in the Los Angeles Times, although viewing it gave me no pleasure. flaco
fritz
The media in S. Texas covered the death of the soldier from here fully. I don't think they left out any of the facts concerning that death. While it's unfortunate that these things happen, I don't blame our Texas media for a "blank out". fritz
